CNM History
Establishment (1980)
CNM was established in 1980 as part of the Ministry of Health to address malaria, which was a major public health concern.
Growth (1990-2000)
During the 1990s and 2000s, CNM expanded operations to all provinces and began managing other vector-borne diseases.
Key Milestones
- 2001 - Launched Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACT)
- 2008 - Reduced malaria cases by 50%
- 2015 - Established new surveillance systems
- 2020 - Achieved 75% reduction in malaria cases since 2000
- 2025 - Target for malaria elimination
